While I haven’t started recording anything for my podcast yet, these past few weeks I have been drafting the content of what I want to say. The four podcasts I am going to be creating all have to do with specific aspects of things I have gone through in my life and things that my audience could also relate to. The four topics I narrowed down to are talking about, mental health, life after being a college athlete, body image issues stemming from social media, and life in your 20s. It has been easy figuring out what I want to say in each of these subjects, however, what I have found is that there is so much I want to say, but I don’t want to write too much down because I don’t want any of my podcasts to sound scripted. I want them to sound real and authentic and I don’t want it to sound like I am reading off of a piece of paper. With that said, I am doing more of an outline and just writing down bullet points of things I want to bring up so I can also stay on track for what I want to say. My next step is to get into the recording room and just start talking. The first episode I do is probably going to be by myself, but I definitely want to have guests on in some of the other ones. I want to start recording, even if it’s not going to be the content I am going to use, just so I can get a feel of the equipment as well as talking into a microphone. I am super excited to get started and begin recording! My plan once I get the gist of everything and get into a groove, is to try to record a podcast a week. I want to be done recording them hopefully before spring break, but if not then right after, so I can spend the rest of March and April editing them!
