I chose these three chapters to adapt because, to me, they felt like the most critical moments of the book. I made the decision to put chapters seven and eight together because they really felt incomplete without the other. These scenes are meant to highlight how selective a writer must be within adaptation as well as how to make deep introspection into visually engaging. I hope that these two sections of the script show how the medium affects how information is presented to the spectator and narrative structure of a story. My goal, beyond this thesis project, is to finish the adaptation so that the screenplay can exist as its own entity and piece of visual art.
