Hi, this is my Senior Capstone video project. I’ve worked on this project for over a year with the original conception happening in Spring 2019 (when I was a Junior). I had already made a small presentation of tattoos for another course and wanted to expand on that research. If there was any one thing about me that most people don’t know is that I really do love tattoos. I hope to expand my own collections of tattoos myself, but I personally don’t think I’m the type to tattoo every part of my body.

In this video, I explore the various transformations associated with tattoos with a short overview of their history. Throughout the documentary, I reveal the different stigmas that are still apparent today. With these images and videos, I seek to expose the viewer to the various forms of tattoos as an art form and practice.

The footage I shot is from the Villains Art Philadelphia Tattoo Convention 2020. All other footage and images not sourced from the convention are from elsewhere.
