I’ve had a lot of fun recording all of these podcasts and getting to look deeper into swimming than I have before. I just recorded the third of four episodes for the podcast, covering NCAA Division 2 and Division 3 championships. They were some really exciting meets, and I got to talk about some swimmers that I know personally, which is just cool to be able to talk about people I know at big meets like these. It started off slow, but now I will have recorded every episode within the span of 6 weeks and will have everything done well before thesis night, which is nice.
For the next episode, I am closely watching Men’s Division 1 NCAAs this week for any records, close finishes, and great swims to close out the college season and the podcast.
To edit all of these podcasts, what I’ve done is I’ve played back the recordings I did, and then just played a game or did something while it played at full volume in the background. Any time there was a noticeable pause or change in volume, I fixed it or edited out. I figured that how most people listen to podcasts anyway, and so I didn’t need to really try to scrutinize and work for perfection. As long as it sounded good and had a good flow to it, then it felt right.
