I was able to reach out to a favorite comic writer of mine, but I have yet to receive any sort of response. I’m planning on reaching out to more female comic writers as soon as possible as well, just hoping to get a reply from one of them. I’m almost done with the most design-heavy aspect that I will be doing, which is the cover art. This is entirely original art based on a reference photo of myself, the only thing I have left to do is some shading and of course the text. I have two definite art collaborators so far, and I’m looking to try to find a few more if I can. My goal is to have 10-12 full pages of content for the magazine, which include a variety of artwork, at least one interview, and another article of some sort. I plan on narrowing down a topic to focus on for a featured article this week, perhaps giving some spotlight to comic titles currently being written by women. I’ve also considered including my essay from last semester since it focuses on the same topic, or maybe at least excerpts from it. I’m also brainstorming names for the magazine, but that is very much a work in progress at the moment.
