I am in the middle of writing chapter six. I have felt a bit unmotivated these past few days, but I have found that reading helps me get out of this slump, so I am expecting the urge to write any minute now. Despite this, I believe my project is progressing nicely. I am proud of myself for keeping to a schedule and sticking to it (a chapter per week). Since the beginning of the semester, I made a plan to write eight chapters, and I am very close to completing this. My only concern is that I might procrastinate after spring break, which is when I plan to edit the chapters. I only gave myself two weeks for this so that I can order the printed version of my book on April 1st. However, I still do not have any ideas for the cover. Perhaps one day, in the distant future, I can take my work to a publishing house and see what they think, so I want the cover to be compelling. I know judging a book by its cover is considered out of fashion, but I believe that when it comes to actual book covers, many people still judge… I know I do. I mentioned this in my previous blog, but I am also proud of myself for pushing through to write a book. Becoming an author has been a dream of mine since childhood, and even though this may not sell millions, I am still excited to eventually say I wrote my first book.
