Things have come to a screeching halt, as I have been spending a lot of time celebrating as well as wallowing in my own sorrow. In the beginning, I attempted to do at least a bit of work on the project every single day. Recently, I have gone days and sometimes a full week without working on the project. This life is just so hard.
While I am slacking, Alan has been keeping me on track by providing me with a few mannequins for thesis day. While I am extremely grateful for the mannequins, I have run into a bit of a problem. The clothes I have created are made for my body and well, I don’t look like a 5’9, 130 pound woman. I’m going to have to use a lot of pins and tape in order to mold the clothes so they’ll flatter the mannequins. In addition to the mannequins will be an interactive photo slideshow of myself modeling the clothes. I feel having both components adds layers to my project and displays my ability to adapt as a creative.
Running list of finished garments:
- Crocheted headwrap
- Three distressed tops
- Three crocheted tops
- Distressed skirt
- Braided skirt
- Swimsuit style undergarmentI’m tired of working on this project. In other news, I just turned 22!
Things to come:
- Crocheted/sewn dresses
- Crocheted/sewn skirts
- Accessories
- Footwear/socks
Okay, I suppose I should get to work, as the semester ends in less than a month. Attached is a photo of myself modeling some of my garments. Until next time.
