I don’t even know where to begin with describing how this situation has affected my creative project. The goal of my thesis video with Chris was to create a visual short narrative that would be supported by a music project that I have worked on throughout my senior year. I have basically finished the music project but we were not able to finish all of our planned shooting for each of the songs. On the last day of school before spring break, Chris and I thankfully linked up to look over the footage from our second shoot day earlier in the month. We had a really good day testing out the Insta 360 clips and thinking about how to start piecing together all the footage we had in case we were not able to come together again. We were smart and able to make sure I had copies of all the clips because I can edit at home with my computer setup. Sadly, with no way of shooting again with my actor or going out to locations, we will not be able to finish the narrative aspect of our piece. It is really hard trying to edit together something knowing that it could have been so much more and a true credit to our initial vision when the semester started. The challenging part now is culminating these clips into a “trailer” or I could just try to make everything I have so far flow into a much shorter video but the motivation isn’t 100%. I don’t half ass things when it comes to my art so I’m trying my best to make the most out of a ridiculous situation.
