Gillian Scott

Hi! My name is Gillian (Gigi) Scott and I use she/her pronouns. I am excited to say I will soon be graduating with my degree in Media & Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. I was raised in Harleysville, PA, but just a few years ago moved with my mom and stepdad to Encinitas, California, and have been loving it ever since.

I have always been active on social media and interested in learning how to utilize it properly which is why I chose PR as my concentration. Through this major, I have found a number of new passions including digital illustration, marketing, crisis management, and theoretical media studies. I came into Arcadia as an English major so naturally, writing has always been my first love which has helped tremendously in my studies of the communications field.

In the fall of 2021, I took Media Studies with Dr. Dwyer in which my final paper was an analysis of the ‘Good For Her’ trope in horror/thriller films. This is one of my favorite papers I’ve ever written and one of my favorite classes I’ve ever taken so I decided to incorporate it into my creative thesis project.

Outside of school and academics, I can be found scouring thrift and vintage stores for new pieces or having movie marathons with my friends.
