Conrad Shmidt
I’m Conrad and I’m a senior Media and Communications major at Arcadia University. I previously studied Political Science at Syracuse University before coming to Arcadia to study Communications. Along with my studies I’m also a writer, and I specialize in opinion essays, and observational articles. I typically write about the aspects of culture and art that are usually taken for granted, but deserve a critical second look. During my time at Arcadia, I started writing my column, Smoking Section, a cultural criticism column with a focus on Gen Z. I take a lot of inspiration from nightlife across the country, and it’s often the subject of my writing. I’m happiest when I’m traveling to a new place, people watching and observing the world around me.
