My thesis is going to be a series of loosely connected poetry videos, with the goal being 11 total videos. Each video is going to have vastly different subject matter, but they’re all going to be tied together by one common theme: the universe. Each planet – including Pluto – will have its designated poem and video, as well as the sun and moon.
Currently, I’ve been working on developing the poems themselves. The process has been going something like this: hoping for inspiration, finding a sliver of inspiration and desperately trying to translate it into verse, hating what’s on the page, and repeating this for what seems like an endless cycle. Creative block and imposter syndrome are really setting in intensely at this point in the process, but enough grinding of the gears and I will soon have actual poems to work with!
