I’ve been saying “I’m going to throw a rave as my senior capstone” for three years now and I am beyond proud to say I REALLY DID IT!
The event was a massive success in every way possible. We sold out of the 350 RSVPs allotted, with about 275 showing up, all of which were dressed to the nines in their finest attire. Everyone enjoyed the kandi making station, rave clothes trading table, and the free Hors’Doeurves from Metz catering. There were so many donations that our three bins overflowed in the first hour. It took 3 jam-packed vehicles to take all of them to Cradles to Crayons!
Through showcasing our passions and talents, we are more than capable of making great changes to our society and to the system as a whole. The online response (where this community primarily lives) has been mind blowing, with a collective 200,000 views on just three Instagram reels of the event. People are begging for another one and expressed how grateful they were to have had this opportunity. Little do they know I’ve been crying for days over the fact that they all believed in me as much as they did.
After seeing the amount of donations, the responses to this event… It’s proof of the impact we really have as an EDM-based community. I’ve never been more motivated to continue working to change this industry for the better. This community means more to me than I will ever be able to explain and if I can help one person realize the beauty of it, I am fulfilled. The Riddim Royalty Charity Event feels like just the beginning of something spectacular and I have never been more proud of something in my life.
