As the sun sets im closing in on the final days before my event takes place at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery. I was finally able to get a hold of a place that would let me hold my event and I want to extend a massive thank you to the people at The Ways for being professional and welcoming. The beer garden in their back section is a perfect location for me and everyone who comes. A great place to soak up some sun, shop some clothes, conversate and drink beers!
As, Ive been able to finalize a spot, ive started to post and send out my advertisement to everyone and anyone. Professors, students who are apart of the communications program here and public relations. I’ve been able and am super grateful to everyone who has helped me advertise for my event. I took inspiration from vintage ads. Whether it’s vintage lucky strike cigarette ads or budweiser ads from the 70s. I also was able to find 3 other vendors who are students at arcadia to come and set up show for me. Shoutout to Molly, Tomas, and Hope for being there for me!
As far as the donation side of my event, I’ve continuously reached out to local donations in and around philadelphia and glenside and have found minimal support or responses. I think I will donate the clothes to a local school, I want them to go somewhere that is sustainable and won’t just sit a thrift store or playto’s closet for months before getting sent to a landfill. I have reached out to some schools locally and I think that will be my best bet.
