Updates on Updates Amidst the Neverending 2026 Snow:
We all had a jam session together. My boyfriend did drums, my friend did acoustic guitar, Raphy sang and played electric guitar, and another friend sent me audio of her playing violin to layer over it too. We got Raphy a beautiful white gown from the thrift store, floor-length so it can add that extra flowy, melancholic feel for when we film the music video.
I’m feeling now that adding digital drawings will feel too modern and out of place. Instead, I’ll try layering and melting and meshing different photos around the footage to create the multimedia effect, maybe crumpled paper or ash PNGs too.
Raphy borrowed my boyfriend’s pedal for her guitar, so she’s been playing with that as well. We’re still figuring out layering and where we want different instruments to come in. It’s exciting to be a part of something so precious to both of us.
I feel like she’s the George Michael of Wham!, and I’m just Andrew Ridgeley sitting around, nodding and cheering and clapping for her. My talents are nowhere near hers, musically.
We’re planning to film her in an abandoned building she found in New Jersey on her birthday at the end of March. Let’s go!
