In the time between now and my first blog, so much has happened both within my school life and personal life. This in turn has unfortunately led to a downtick in the work I’ve been able to do, and has left me a little stressed. However, that doesn’t mean I haven’t at least been exploring ideas. On how to express my findings or emotions regarding this project. I actually ended up writing a poem about my grandfather’s experiences in connection to the rise of facism in America – and while it’s not my best work, I’m still proud of it. One of my friends offered to help me edit it so I could put it in my final project, so I’m looking forward to that!

Over spring break, I’m also planning on going and visiting the Lithuanian Club of Philadelphia! I’ve heard that it’s open to anyone and frequently has events, so this could be a further chance for me to connect with my grandfather’s culture. I hope to bring my father along with me, to maybe make it a bonding experience for the both of us.

As of right now, I only have three pages written for this capstone. I hope my own personal struggles in life die down a bit so I can focus more on this. That’s all for now, I hope to write again soon. For now, please have this photo of one of the books I got in Dachau for my research.
