Planning my senior seminar project has felt a little like building something out of nothing, exciting, unpredictable, and full of small victories. Over the past week, I’ve been reaching out to different venues about hosting my thrifting event, hoping to find a space that not only fits the vision but also feels welcoming to the community I want to bring together. Each email and conversation has pushed the project forward, even when the answers weren’t immediate.
What’s surprised me most is how much this part of the process matters. It’s not just about securing a location; it’s about forming a partnership with a space that believes in the idea. Some venues responded quickly, others needed follow‑ups, and a few never replied at all, but every interaction helped me refine how I present the event and what I’m looking for.
Right now, I’m close to finalizing the location, and that step feels huge. Once the venue is confirmed, everything else; promotion, layout, vendors, flow, can finally take shape. It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s just steady communication, patience, and trusting that the right space will line up at the right time.
