For my creative project I’m starting a street style photography Instagram account that will be compiled into a short zine at the end of the project. The “street style” will all be scouted on college campuses in the Philadelphia area. So far I plan on visiting at least 3-4 of the following schools throughout the semester: UPenn, Moore College of Art and Design, Drexel University, Temple University, and University of the Arts. I’ll also be actively doing this on Arcadia’s campus as well. So far I’ve created an Instagram account under the handle @Campustyle_phl, and have started researching street photography tips and finding other photographers for inspiration. From these tips and ideas I’ve started building a “cheat sheet” for myself that I’ll save in my phone so that while I’m shooting I have a quick access guide to details like what information I’ll ask from the subject (name, major/school, instagram or other social media, consent release video). The guide also includes a brief script for myself so I feel prepared to approach people and introduce the project efficiently. I’ve also created business cards to hand to people so they know where they can view the images (they include the instagram handle @campustyle_phl as well as my personal instagram).
